Clysta married Jeff in 1998 and soon became interested in the scouting organization. Though she was never involved with the Girl Scouts, she was involved with an organization called Campfire Girls. This is much like the Girl Scouts, however has more involvement with the outdoor activities. Clysta was involved with Campfire Girls from 2nd Grade until the end of High School where she earned the Wo-he-lo medallion which is the highest medal for this organization. Her mother served as a leader with her group and she recalls many camping events as one of the better parts of the group.
Clysta became active in the Boy Scouts of America in the Gerald R. Ford Council, Eagle Valley District, Pack 3224 with their son Dimitrios. She served as the Tiger Den Leader for Pack 3224 until they relocated to California. Once in California she joined the Orange County Council, Rancho Del Mar District, Pack 645. Clysta served as the Wolf and Bear Den Leader for this pack, and is now the Cubmaster. She also assist with the Rancho Del Mar District as the District Activities Chairperson.
